lammas blessings
Lammas, celebrated on August 1st, is a traditional festival marking the beginning of the harvest season. Spiritually, it represents a time of gratitude, reflection, and abundance. It is a moment to acknowledge the fruits of one's labor, both literal and metaphorical, and to give thanks for the Earth's bounty. Lammas also symbolises the cycle of life, death, and rebirth, as the harvest reminds us of the impermanence of life and the continuous process of renewal.
In today’s 45 minute practice, we are going to embrace the energy of Lammas and embody the circle of life through a mandala style practice. Mandala Yoga is a unique and holistic approach within the yoga tradition, representing a fusion of physical, spiritual, and meditative practices. The term "mandala" means "circle" in Sanskrit, symbolising unity, wholeness, and the universe. In Mandala Yoga, practitioners often move in a circular pattern, creating a flow that mimics the cyclical nature of life and the universe.
